Today’s movie is inspired by a meme posted by an old friend. The Crow is just Robocop for goths. Every teen goth, goth-lite, punk, and weirdo in the mid 90s owned The Crow and its soundtrack. I was no exception. It’s been a while since I watched this movie so I figured it’s due a rewatch.
Random thoughts as I watch: Memes made me do it. Devil’s Night = Halloween movie. Why would their apartment be vacant a year later. Their cat still hanging around waiting for his din din. I love her eyes. Pretty. As I crochet an eyeball rose. Why didn’t the kid recognize him right away. Can’t rain all the time. The makeup is like Clark Kent glasses. Mother is the name for god on the lips and hearts of all children. The last time I saw those words in print was a memorial post. This soundtrack takes me back. Nothing is trivial. All the power in the world resides in the eyes. Fire it up! Fire it up! AFTER THE FLESH. I saw a Bile show in my college days. It was pretty much exactly like the scene in the movie. Brandon Lee has been dead longer than he was alive. Now I’m sad. And of course the saddest song plays during the credits.
Closing thoughts: I still like both the movie and the soundtrack. Spooky kid forever. I didn’t finish the eyeball rose that should have taken me 10 minutes during the movie.
