My folks found a box of my old dvds in storage today. It was mostly old horror movies, of course. I was struck with nostalgia and picked a movie from the pile but I don’t have a dvd player and wasn’t motivated to take the one from my kid’s room. So I looked it up on the streaming services and of course couldn’t find it. But I did find another nostalgia bomb. The Toxic Avenger. I was into Troma films for a minute in my younger years. I remember them being stupid af but hilarious. So here we go.

Real time reactions: what a bunch of turds. Oh look, titties. Melvin, you idiot. My little Melvin must have finally reached puberty lol. So Melvin goes from being a guy who is barely able to sting together a sentence to being a superhero? I guess. This guy just happens to have nunchucks on him. Force fed milk? Oooh I see. Comedian cops. That’s not his hand, blind lady. 12 bucks, huh. Dumb children just sitting in the middle of the road. Saw that coming. Ok his interactions with the blind lady are pretty funny. Half the people in this town are legit psychopaths. Richard Nixon book in with the toxic waste lol. People can’t go around doing things just because they’re right.

Closing thoughts: there’s a lot that didn’t age well. I remember this movie being really funny but this time around I was mostly bored. I know there are folks who consider this one a classic, but I’m not feeling it.
