Had movie night with my brother today. We had some technological difficulties but got it to work before we were both too annoyed to enjoy a movie. No real time reactions because I don’t do that when I’m watching with someone.
So this is based on the Captain’s Log chapter in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. You wouldn’t think that a single chapter of a book could be stretched into a feature length film, but here we are. I thought it was pretty good. I liked that Dracula looked like a monster. Movie vampires are often smooth talking sexy, sparkly, or human looking creatures with animal magnetism. Not this one. I also liked that no one was safe. Not the dog, not the livestock, not the kid…no one. We had lots of jokes about the doctor and his blood transfusions and throwing people overboard. No happy endings here.
Closing thoughts: good movie and a good time overall.
