I’m cheating again. I’m just not in the mood for a movie tonight, so I chose another one of my favorite Halloween specials. The Honking. I love Futurama and I love a good horror parody. In this episode, Bender inherits a castle from a dead distant relative. While it’s well established that Bender Bending Rodriguez is Mexican, his late uncle’s castle is in the Robo-Hungarian empire. Whatever. Bender is anything and everything. Anyway he inherits this castle and has to spend the night. He ends up being chased and hit by a werecar and becoming one himself. His friendship with Fry is put to the test after he is told that he will kill his best friend but he goes after Leela. Hilarity ensues. In the end, the curse is broken and his friendship repaired. This episode takes bits from several horror classics and gives them a Futurama spin. I love it.
