Books, movies, and other totally normal human things

Day 13 of 31 days of horror: Phantasm (1979)

I started watching this one last night and went for a nap halfway through. I should probably watch it from the beginning, but I’m not going to do that. It’s just not that compelling and it’s weird in a way that I don’t love. I do love the score though.

Closing thoughts: now that I’ve finished the movie in a less tired state of mind, I actually really enjoyed it. I don’t know if the second half really is that much better than the first or if I’m just more dialed in, but it’s a much better movie today. The weirdness falls into place when we figure out what’s really going on at the end. Good stuff.
