Tonight’s choice is another new to me movie, When a Stranger Calls. I added it to my watchlist recently while I was scrolling aimlessly. It was a young Carol Kane that drew me in.
Sure brought a lot of homework. Ring. Nada. So it begins. Ring. Have you checked the children? Ring. Ok, I won’t keep doing that. Excuse me, the man said you can have a low fat yogurt, not a popsicle. Certainly didn’t say you were welcome to the liquor cabinet. Typical cop. Really though, why haven’t you checked the children. How do you even know there are children. I mean they told you the kids are sleeping, but how do you know? Maybe the cop isn’t useless after all. If you’re so scared, why would you turn off all the lights. Come on. I guess rich people might have had two lines. No wonder the kids were so quiet. Seven years later? Take a hint, dude. Fucking creeper. Girl, don’t apologize. I mean, I get it. Sometimes you say whatever you think will get a creep to back off. Especially if he followed you home. Doing way more watching than reacting. It’s that kind of movie. Ooh. I thought we were done with the babysitter. Lmao what a dork. If I had Jill’s history and someone threatened my kids, those kids would be sleeping right next to me. Grab that rifle, Jill. Oh shit. That was an abrupt ending.
Overall decently creepy and suspenseful. Not your typical slasher. Knowing that there is a sequel starring Carol Kane and Charles Durning leaves me with questions. I liked it though. Would recommend for folks who like psychological thrillers.
